SINGLE FEMALE TRAVELLER

Believe it or not, 43% of our customers are single ladies travelling around Australia! It is the fastest growing sector of our industry and continues to grow. One of the topics of conversation that regularly comes up is….”is it safe for a single lady to travel Australia”?

The short answer is YES!

The long answer is more detailed. For a single lady in particular to travel alone around our beautiful country she must consider many things before putting her RV into first gear.

* Can she walk from the back to the front of her RV without having to exit the vehicle first? This is important for safety reasons. Should someone be trying to gain entry into the RV at night then she should be able to quickly jump into the driver’s seat and take off. If she needs to first exist the vehicle then she is open to problems.

* Always park the vehicle in the direction you intend to leave. NEVER park yourself in or facing say a wall.

* When ever possible always travel in groups or with another person in their RV.

* There are many groups including single lady groups that offer companionship, tips and safety in numbers.

* Always park where there are other campers.

* One very cool trick I heard from a seasoned single lady traveler. She purchased an old pair of size 13 work boots from a charity shop and puts them outside her Camper with 2 chairs. When someone comes along that she is not comfortable with she just says either her Husband is asleep or will be back very soon. The shoe size is very intimidating!

* There is no real great secret to traveling alone. It is just common sense. But…if the thought of traveling alone scares you and stops you from making that move then I am sorry to say you are not truly living your full potential. It matters not what gender you are…what matters is what type of person you are. Will you remain a “Wall Flower” and live your life vicariously through others or will you release yourself from your fears and take the plunge (as thousands have before you). If you decide to “take the plunge” then pop in to our RV dealership and say Hi. We can even arrange for other single lady travelers to join you under our Marque where you can talk face to face and ask as many questions as you like…or at least until the desire to free yourself from your shackles is so strong that you jump in with both feet and…SWIM!
